Phoenix of the Grove
The Phoenix of the Grove Chapter of CUUPS (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans) was birthed in 2019 as a response to the needs for networking and education of Pagan-identified congregational members and friends. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Jackson has a long history of supporting diverse religious expression and had formal and informal pagan fellowships for decades but in recent years leaned heavily on external affinity groups to serve the pagan community of our congregation. Following the congregation’s long history of diverse religious expression, a core group of congregation members and friends gathered and set up the charter for the current chapter in 2019. The name Phoenix of the Grove honors both the beautiful green space set aside by the congregation in our physical space and the many official and unofficial pagan groups that have found shelter in this congregation, from their legacy we rise anew.
We offer a platform for diverse pagan religious exploration and celebration. We hold regular rituals that honor the cycles of the Moon and the cycles of the Earth, i.e., the Wheel of the Year. Please see our event calendar for dates and times. Throughout the year, we conduct pagan themed Sunday service, these will be announced in the weekly newsletter as well as being listed on the upcoming services part of the website.
