All classes are free (except where noted) and open to members, friends, and guests.


Thematic Personal Exploration and Reflection: Each month a new theme will be explored to help members and friends engage in personal and spiritual development. Click to learn more about the monthly theme and to learn about opportunities to explore it with others.

Adult Religious Exploration Classes: Open to all adults of all ages, these classes are held on Sunday afternoons at 1:00 pm:

  • 4th Sundays – Resistance and Transformation – For adult members and friends of all ages, this series explores Unitarian Universalist social justice history and our struggle to live up to our ever-evolving ideas of social transformation

Starting Point: This introductory course is designed for newcomers who are interested in becoming a member of UUJXN. It offers participants the opportunity to explore their own personal, spiritual journey, learn about the journey of Unitarian Universalism and UUJXN, and to explore how to begin a shared journey together.  This course fulfills the Stepping Stones requirements for membership and is offered in-person, live every second Sunday of the month.

UU 101: A UU Overview: This introductory course is designed for individuals who want to learn more about Unitarian Universalism. It offers participants the opportunity to learn about UU beliefs, history, organization and governance, and approaches to worship, religious education, and social justice. This course fulfills the Stepping Stones requirements for membership and is a self-paced, self-study module. Sign up for the online UU 101 class here! You can also download a UU 101 Workbook for the class in Word format. At least once a year, there will be a live, in-person opportunity to discuss the content with others who have completed the course.

UU 102: The Seven Principles: This series is designed for individuals to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the seven principles of Unitarian Universalism. This course supports but is not required for membership. This course is offered via a self-paced, self-study module. At least once a year, there will be a live, in-person opportunity to discuss the content with others who have completed the course.

UU 103: The Six Sources: This series is designed for individuals to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the six sources of Unitarian Universalism. This course supports but is not required for membership. This course is offered via a self-paced, self-study module. At least once a year, there will be a live, in-person opportunity to discuss the content with others who have completed the course.
