Stone Soup 2021

This Sunday we will celebrate our traditional Stone Soup service. Stone Soup is a story about a community coming together for a common good. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Jackson has been telling this story on the week before Thanksgiving for years.

This service will be live and simple, involving the telling of the tale and the sharing of a meal. Every member of the community generally brings something to add to the soup. After we prepare the meal, Dary Shenefelt will read the story, and we will eat outdoors, and there will be access to restrooms. Please bring your own bowl, plate, and silverware (and storage take food home) to reduce waste and clean-up. While inside the building please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

We will be preparing three types of soup: chicken-based, beef-based, and vegan. Please sign up at Perfect Potluck to food to share. You may bring prepped and/or cooked vegetables to reduce cooking time. We will open the sanctuary at 10:00 AM to begin cooking and will serve Sunday Lunch around 11:30 AM.

As the story of Stone Soup is about giving, we will also be taking up donations of canned food for Stewpot and dog and cat food for ARF.
