Martin Todd Allen is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. He is an educator, activist, and a degreed theologian.

Join us on April 26th at 11:00 a.m. to listen to fellow UU Todd Allen as he speaks to us about America Beyond Nationalism. We will discuss how our country has changed over the last several years and how these changes have affected everyday Americans in our day-to-day lives. Can we imagine an America beyond nationalism? The things that hold us together will also hold us through.

Please feel free to stay after service as we work together to restore our community garden, so that we can continue providing fresh produce for our neighbors. Jackson is considered a “Food Desert” due to a lack of access to fresh food that’s caused by closures of local grocery stores, lack of transportation to get to stores, or high levels of poverty that prevent purchasing healthier food options. Our church tries to combat this by growing vegetables in raised beds outside of our warehouse, and we have many spaces available to increase our production should we have the volunteers necessary to do so. Please come out and help us help our neighbors, and enjoy putting in some work together with our community. Childcare will be available throughout service and the workday, and drinks/snacks will be provided.
