Community Garden Workday Service – Being In Service to Our Community

Join us on April 26th at 11:00 a.m. as we work together to restore our community garden, so that we can continue providing fresh produce for our neighbors. Jackson is considered a “Food Desert” due to a lack of access to fresh food that is caused by closures of local grocery stores,  lack of transportation to get to the stores, or high levels of poverty that prevent purchasing healthy food options. Our church tries to combat this by growing vegetables in raised beds outside of our warehouse, and we have many spaces available to increase our production should we have the volunteers necessary to do so. Please come out and help us help our neighbors, and enjoy putting in some work together with our comunity. Childcare will be available during the work day, and drinks/snacks will be provided.
