9:30 a.m. – Forum: Leadership Development – led by the Leadership Development Council

In the context of the current crisis in leadership in the UUA, join us as we continue our discussion of leadership at UUCJ and how our Unitarian Universalist Principles inform our views. 11:00 a.m. – Service: Alone on the Ocean: Embracing Connection, led by Min. Justin McCreary

Sometimes I hear people say, “We just don’t talk anymore”. If we’re not careful we can feel as if we are all strangers, in our homes, with our friends, and even when we look in the mirror. Over time it’s as if we started speaking different languages. It is easy in the current climate to feel isolated, alone, and in the dark. How do we find connection and what does it take to learn to speak the same language again?

Note: The Chalice Children and UU Kids will join the congregation for the beginning of the service for the chalice lighting, song, collection, joys and concerns, and a Story for All Ages.

11:30 a.m. – Religious Exploration:

  • Chalice Children: Wonderful Welcome – Through stories, song, guided play, and arts and crafts, the Chalice Children explore and share the intangible gifts of welcoming central to Unitarian Universalism, such as kindness, love, friendship, hospitality, and fairness.
  • U.U. Kids: Amazing Grace: Exploring Right and Wrong – Through stories, discussion, and activities, the U.U. Kids develop their own moral compass to guide them on the path toward becoming empathetic and responsible teenagers and adults.
