Telling Our Story While Traveling Through Time

Sometimes, I can’t name a sermon until I finish it. Sometimes, I name the sermon while writing it. Sometimes, I come up with the name in advance to guide its development. And sometimes, I come up with a really fun name and wonder if the sermon will ever live up to it. Time might be infinite, but I am finite, so I must consider the calculus of how much time constructing a sermon title I spend. As I reflect on time, I recall Douglas Adams’ insightful quote, “Time is an illusion. Lunch time doubly so.”

For those of you who might want a clearer synopsis about the topic of my sermon: I am going to talk about the unfolding of the story of our finite lives as we travel through infinite time. Or something like that.
