Circles in Tension and the Fount of Creation

We often ask, “How can we, as a church, be more inclusive?” The general response to this question is to engage in more outreach. Some churches have wonderful outreach efforts we could learn from. Even though outreach is important, outreach alone will not make us more inclusive. Unitarian Universalist churches have many who visit with us but don’t stay with us long-term. To truly be more inclusive, we must look at ourselves with fresh eyes and ask, “How do we make visitors feel welcomed, comfortable, and connected?” The answer to that question requires introspection and meditation.
