9:30 a.m. – Forum: Indivisible, led by Kathleen Chambers

In December, former congressional staffers hastily assembled a guide for people seeking to engage in advocacy and resist the reactionary agendas. Since then, over a million copies of the guide, Indivisible, has been downloaded. Local groups are springing up and putting the recommendations into practice — helping to build a burgeoning resistance movement for justice and equality. If you feel compelled to become active but are unsure where to begin, join us to learn together.

11:00 a.m. – Service: Partisan vs. Politics: The Quandary for Churches, led by Jim Becker

In a little church in the South where the pastor had the nerve to talk politics in the context of social justice, a few grumblers were heard to say, “I don’t think politics should be what our church should be talking about.” Really? Is there no definition of politics or partisanship that a church should not touch? Let’s explore thoughts around these two words and the actions that come with each. Separate or entwined?

  • Chalice Children: Wonderful Welcome – Through stories, song, guided play, and arts and crafts, the Chalice Children explore and share the intangible gifts of welcoming central to Unitarian Universalism.
  • U.U. Kids: Amazing Grace: Exploring Right and Wrong – Through stories, discussion, and activities, the U.U. Kids develop their own moral compass to guide them on the path toward becoming empathetic and responsible teenagers and adults.
