This past Sunday, as we celebrated the conclusion of the 30 Days of Love, we honored current and former member who have demonstrated Love in Action and Service within and beyond the walls of UUJXN! Honorees this year include:
2025 Shenefelt Award was awarded to Ranjan Batra for his dedicated services to UUJXN, including providing weekly audiovisual support for worship. The Shenefelt Award, named for Dary and Ray Shenefelt, is given by the Board of Trustees to a member who provides extraordinary service to UUJXN.
2025 FLAME Award was awarded to Maureen McGuire for her quiet but consistent advocacy for climate justice within our community. The FLAME award, or the Fran Leber Award for Ministerial Excellence, is given by the Ministry Council to a member who lives out UU Values in the broader community.
2026 Courageous Love Awardees were honored for their service to the Beloved Community
- Gwen Pevey was honored for her advocacy for immigrant rights and LGBTQ rights.
- Richard Grant was honored for his advocacy for social justice, democratic values, and climate justice.
- Martin Todd Allen was honored for his advocacy for immigrants, racial justice, and advocacy to end the genocide in Palestine.
