These Are the Names: A Celebration of Blessing

June 5, 2022 – 11:00 am Bob Keller, Rev. Justin McCreary
It’s been difficult to focus on blessings lately. News services and social media inundate us 24 hours a day. For many people, the first thing we do upon waking is to grab our phone, open social media, and begin to doom scroll. When confronted by a world full of sadness and centuries of hatred, it’s easy to feel hopeless. It can be too much for the brain to handle.

How do we combat this feeling of hopelessness? Sometimes we have to zoom the camera in and do as the old hymn tells us–count our blessings, naming them one by one. Celebrating our blessings is paramount to our personal and spiritual wellbeing. Knowing how we’ve been blessed teaches and inspires us to bless others. This Sunday, Rev. Justin McCreary, will guide us in celebrating our blessings so we may bless the world.
