Join us as we explore another episode of the critically-praised and award-wining series presented by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson using a storytelling approach to share current scientific knowledge about our world and the universe as well as the people, fueled by wonder and skepticism, who gave us these theories and discoveries.

10:30 a.m. – Coffee Fellowship

bridge11:00 a.m. – Service: Bridging Ceremony led by Rev. Justin McCreary

As Unitarian Universalists, we recognize the transition from youth to young adulthood is a moment to be celebrated, a process to be supported, and requires a lifelong commitment from all of us. We use the term “bridging” to refer both to the ritual used to honor this transition and the process of youth leaving the YUUth community and finding their place in the community of young adults. As youth enter young adulthood, they open the door for new experiences and greater understanding of their faith. Please join our youth, their families, and our faith community as we celebrate this important transition in the lives of Alex Griggs, Keely McBatra, and Kayla Roberts and in our congregation.

11:00 a.m. – Religious Exploration:

  • Chalice Children (ages 3-6): The Chalice Children will attend the beginning of the Bridging Ceremony and then learn about ways of recognizing adulthood in various cultural and religious traditions.
  • U.U. Kids (ages 7-12): The UU Kids will attend the beginning of the Bridging Ceremony and then explore the people, ideas, and events that have shaped Unitarian Universalism.
  • YUUth (ages 13-17): The YUUth will attend the Bridging Ceremony.
