Celebrating Lammas

Loaves of bread

We will celebrate Lammas, once known as “Loaf Mass” to honor the first harvest. Traditionally, the first loaves of bread were brought to the church to be blessed for a bountiful season. This is a time of community, gathering grains, and celebrating the first fruits of harvest of the year. Lammas, also known as Lughnasadh to modern pagans, is the first of three harvest festivals. We will celebrate with a bread communion and shared community with Our Home UU church.

This will be a shared service between UUJXN and Our Home UU Church, but attendees are encouraged to participate in person. Please see our policy for in person attendance. You are welcome to join us at 10:30 am for coffee, snacks, and socializing!

If you are unable to attend in person, you may participate online, including our virtual Coffee Social, via Zoom at 10:30 am (Central). Grab a cup of coffee (or your morning beverage) and chat with our online and in person community. Then watch the service live: https://zoom.us/j/91584017613?pwd=K1FhUXloMTBJdTRZN2NGZ3Y3VFNTZz09
