There ain’t no easy way out

There is no community without commitment, and commitment is hard. 200 years ago, life was slower, and connection to a church was more than shared theological beliefs. It was a necessary support system to handle life. Religion served a greater role in one’s life than the hour it is credited in today’s world. If you talk to any of our leaders or board members, you will quickly learn their commitment is more than an hour. There is more to commitment than deciding to do something. In fact, just deciding to do something often leads to broken commitments. Commitment requires preparation because commitment is a journey, and journeys take time and energy. It is easy to become over committed in today’s fast paced society. So how do we truly prepare for commitment?

This Sunday, Rev. Justin McCreary will lead us in exploring Commitment.
