Tell Me A Story: Lives in Tension

,

Our personal stories may be the most important stories we ever tell, and an authentic telling can be one of the most powerful things we ever do. However, we can’t tell our stories authentically unless we cope with the tension between our individual stories, where we play the protagonist, and the stories of others, where we are just side characters, or even antagonists. We live in a world of personal goals that often have more to do with a scarcity culture than what Sartre called good faith. How can we truly be interdependent if the goal of our story is to compete for the same piece of bread? How do we survive knowing that our survival may very well mean another’s despair?

Rev. Justin McCreary will deliver the message.
