WORSHIP SCHEDULE

Every Sunday Forum at 9:30am, Service at 11:00am

July 2

Forum: Coffee, Doughnuts and Fellowship." Let's enjoy the time to visit; the kind that usually takes place in the kitchen (before forum) will be the purpose of this morning's gathering.

Service: "Soapbox Sunday." This has been a summer tradition here at UUCJ for many years.  You may take the podium for a few minutes to state/share your views. Fran Leber, coordinator.

July 9

Forum:  "Brown Bag.”  Bill Gressett will facilitate this forum where topics are pulled from -- you guessed it -- a brown bag.

Service:  "From a Buddhist Perspective," presented by Bebe Wolfe.  Marianne Hill, coordinator. Potluck Lunch will follow.

July 16

Forum:  “Reproductive Freedom.”

Service: “Searching for the Sacred in Ireland,” presented by Bonnie Grantham.  As long as I have known I am descended in part from Irish immigrants, I have wanted to visit Ireland; and for many years I have had an interest in female images of the divine.  In May, I was able to combine those two interests in a trip to Ireland to search places my ancestors lived.  I plan to share part of my sacred journey with your congregation.

July 23

Forum:  “Islam in Mississippi” This forum will be presented by members of the local Muslim community.

Service: “The Children of Ishmael,” presented by members of the local Muslim community.

July 30

Forum:  Speaking of Faith.  The program series heard Sunday mornings on local public radio (91.3 FM) will provide the topic. Barbara Scobee will facilitate.  Transcripts will be provided (for the first time) to add depth to the discussion.

Service: "Global Warming," presented by Luke Lundemo. Brian Heffner, coordinator.

NOTE: The NUUSLetter is going on a mini-hiatus for the summer.  The calendar and worship schedule will be mailed as usual, but there will be no articles in the next two issues.  If you have an event to list on the calendar, email it to NUUSletter@uujackson.org.

If you would like to receive the NUUsletter by email, please user our NUUS subscription form.
